Faithful
Just about to leave for a retreat with my church family aka bunch of crazy college kids. I’m going to be leading worship for the retreat, and even though I’ve lead for retreats before, it feels like I’m going into another unknown for me because I know the people so well-whereas the other retreats have been more like, “okay I don’t know where you all are spiritually,...

Original: The Road You Chose →
So I’ve been going through a really tough time… and so I wrote a song about it. It’s about basically having to stand up for yourself and what you believe in, even if it hurts.
Cover: Make You Feel My Love →
I love this song, as I’m sure many of you do as well!
I met up with my old friend and mentor Tony T the other day; I think this was our first take. It just felt right.

I have much to be thankful for…
Dear fans, thank you for allowing my songs to get stuck in your head. Thank you for coming to my shows, following me on Facebook, buying my CD, even wanting me to sign your CD. Thanks for taking the time to write to me and share glimpses of your life and how my songs have played a part in it. It’s really an honor to be able to meet each and every one...
In my music, I’m trying to play the truth of what I am. The reason...
– Charles Mingus
-I think that at some point in his/her career, every musician questions the intent of their art. Do they create music for music’s sake? Or do they cater to the audience. Do they know fully what their music represents? Does it fit easily into a genre and supply a list of...

while driving down to the OC this past weekend...
I pulled up Beauty and the Beast the Musical Original Broadway Cast and started singing/speaking the entire thing. Complete with manly voices and tinkling chimes noises. I can even follow the musical cues of the Prologue. I think my favorite line is still “we shall be the perfect pair, rather like my thiiiiiighs!” and then I laugh…at how crazy I am.
Just thought you should...

Thank you.
Thank you friends, fans, supporters, mentors, contributors, and inspirations. Please just know that every kind word and deed (and hugs!) since day one (which was like… 5 years ago!) has never been forgotten. It’s really thanks to your support that I was able to do this. Making this CD was awesome!! I was able to work with so many amazingly gifted people, and I was able to gain more...

AUGUST 7th
Hello Friends,
After a year of recording, editing, and mastering, my first CD is going to be released into the wild on August 7th, 2011. (like releasing a previously wounded animal back into its habitat heh)
This date means a lot to me because August 7th, 2005 was when Koh and I first started dating. Since then, I have learned a lot about love.
Love means accepting the other despite their...

I had my first chiropractor appointment/adjustment!!!
I got a 30min deep tissue massage, and then the chiro cracked 8 different locations from my neck to my lower back. Now, I can lift my head up and look up and around without having my neck hurt. YEAH!
oh, backstory: after moving into my new apartment a few weeks ago, I started getting crazy back pain that lasted for about two weeks. My lower...

COOL STORY BRO.
So I’ve been singing this song, “Sad and Beautiful” out and about in various locations and things.
And people like it (yay!) and they’ve been asking for a video or something they can download.
So I hit up Ben (violin) and Sarah (drums) today around noon, asking whether they’d be down to record it sometime in the summer.
Then I get a phone call like.. 6 hrs later...
Lord, your faithfulness upholds me.

peeling off the layer of lint on that screen after you use the laundry dryer. sort of gross, but delightfully satisfying. :)
When conversations inspire me..
I hope your heart is not too hard to love
I hope your heart is not too cold to care
I feel the scars you hide under your smile
even now it’s not too late to love
Too late you say it’s too late to change
why make a move when it’s all the same
There’s something sad and beautiful
about the way you are
Maybe in a few more years or so
you will have a story of...

Hey!
So I decided to make a music myspace. I posted some newer songs/versions on there, so check it out!
Expanding my technological horizons yessss. Now you don’t have to scroll through the archives on tumblr to play songs over and over and over again.
Don’t know if one person played Millionaire 280 times or not, but THANK YOU! Keep listening for my EP coming out soon! :D

Oy Vay!
my brain feels like what happens when you let kids draw on walls with sharpies.
im definitely not used to working 10hr days, which is what i’ve been doing basically the past three days. and at times I’ve been really anxious about whether it’s “good enough,” and I think I went a little crazy today and was picking out every little imperfection in my recordings- my own...

Hello.
I just wanted to say thanks. How you write me notes, send me texts, emails, about how a certain song encouraged you or pointed you towards God during the day, or how you keep singing a certain song (or for some of you, a certain line) and you can’t get it out of your head! - that is so so soooo precious to me.
I am blessed and humbled to be the one who wrote the songs through...

take things slow.
hi. :)
I’ll cut to the chase. I’m a shy girl. But I love to sing and I love to write songs. I especially love to share my songs with people.
Someone recommended that I start this blog as a way to post up some of my music, and as technologically challenged as I am, I thought it would be good.
My aim here is to post my songs, and the inspiration behind them/what I am trying to say...
